FM Mattsson selects Bäckman Blästermaskiner and SBM for blasting equipment
Late autumn we delivered a blaster cabinet to FM Mattsson in Mora and this was our first delivery to the company. The purpose-built blast system is integrated in the casting cell and cleans molds from zinc residues, black agents, etc.
Christer Eriksson, FM Mattsson, production technician and project manager in the foundry and responsible for the purchase:
Did you know about Bäckman Blästermaskiner before?
- No, the company was unknown to me, but I saw an advertisement. When we looked around to find a supplier, I also contacted Bäckman.
And the choice fell on us!
- Yes, I talked to people and everyone recommended Bäckman Blästermaskiner "they are the best". What was important to us, besides good recommendations, was the competence and the friendly approach. Although we were given the opportunity to visit SBM in Laholm where the blaster cabinet was to be manufactured was valuable. In addition, we valued the geographical proximity for service and maintenance, two hours by car.
Mika Ström, responsible technical sales, Bäckman Blästermaskiner:
- We devised a few different options on the drawing board before we, in consultation with the customer, decided which model we would build. It was important that the cabinet was precisely adapted to FM Mattsson's production.
Mats Blåder, CEO, Bäckman Blästermaskiner and SBM:
- It was our first delivery to FM Mattsson, which meant that we spent a lot of time in the beginning to understand their production and what demands they have on their blasting facilities.
FM Mattsson is Sweden's oldest tap manufacturer. Already in 1865 FM Mattsson was founded by Frost Matts Mattsson, and has been a pioneer for the entire industry ever since. The company manufactures mixers, taps and thermostats and is located in Mora.
